Tottenham Hotspur are showing growing confidence in closing a deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, valued at at least £60 million ($81 million), according to sources close to the club.
Tottenham’s interest in the 27-year-old player has intensified, after his £68 million release clause expired earlier this month. Now, Spurs are hoping to negotiate a deal for a slightly lower amount.
Arsenal, who had also shown interest in Eze, seems to have cooled their interest, especially after young Ethan Nwaneri signed a new five-year contract.
Eze played 84 minutes in Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea and had a brilliant free-kick goal disallowed by VAR in the first half.He will come to Crystal Palace’s training ground tomorrow and recover. We will make sure to have a free Tuesday and we will meet on Wednesday, and I hope he is back and plays with us against Fredrikstad.
