Sesko Fight: Manchester United and Newcastle United in the bidding
RB Leipzig finds itself at a crossroads, having received formal offers from both Manchester United and Newcastle United for star striker Benjamin Sesko. Both Premier League clubs are assessing the situation, adding excitement to the transfer market.
Newcastle United has already submitted an initial offer, which, according to sources, was around £65.4 million, with the possibility of adding £4.3 million in add-ons. However, this proposal was initially rejected by the German club. Recently, the “Magpies” have improved their offer, reaching £69.7 million, plus possible bonuses.
Manchester United, for its part, has matched Newcastle’s offer, according to internal sources. The “Red Devils” seem to have resources to compete for Sesko, especially after Marcus Rashford’s loan to Barcelona and the obtaining of an additional 20.7 million pounds sterling thanks to clauses in other agreements.
Despite this, United’s budget is described as “tight”, which could make a bidding war with Newcastle difficult.
Sesko was not included in the Leipzig team for the friendly against Atalanta last Saturday, while he evaluates his future. The Slovenian striker must decide whether his next step is to join Manchester United, Newcastle United, or if he prefers to stay at the Red Bull Arena.
Sources indicate that United is confident in winning the race for Sesko’s signature if the final decision comes down to a choice between the two Premier League clubs.

Simons completed a permanent transfer to Leipzig in January, after having been on loan from Paris Saint-Germain since the previous season. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances.
