Ryan Reynolds, known for his role in Deadpool, has made it clear that both he and his partner at Wrexham, Rob McElhenney, do not interfere in the club’s football decisions. The Welsh team has experienced a meteoric rise under the ownership of Hollywood actors, achieving a historic milestone by being the first team in the top five divisions of English football to achieve three consecutive promotions. Reynolds and McElhenney were present at the STōK Cae Ras on Saturday to witness Wrexham’s first home match in the second tier of English football since May 1982. However, the match did not have the expected ending, as West Bromwich Albion won with a score of 3-2, leaving the “Red Dragons” without points after two matchdays.
We have a very discreet management style. Our function is to listen, learn, and tell the story. I think that’s a great position for any ownership group, to be there to support and tell the story.

McElhenney added that his job is to be respectful of what Phil Parkinson does on the field, and with the executive team outside of it.It’s interesting to receive praise when people say, ‘You’ve done a good job with the club.’ The truth is, we have nothing to do with what happens on the field. We have a very specific function, which is to be clowns and tell the story in the best way possible.
