Real Madrid Secures Dean Huijsen: Stellar Reinforcement for the Defense

Real Madrid has finalized the incorporation of defender Dean Huijsen, coming from Bournemouth. The white club has confirmed the agreement, marking a milestone in its signing strategy for next season.

Huijsen, after a standout season in the Premier League, joins the merengue team following the agreement with Bournemouth. The transfer, which includes the payment of the 50 million pound release clause (approximately 60 million dollars), will allow the player to participate in the Club World Cup in June.

Real Madrid C.F. and AFC Bournemouth have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dean Huijsen, who will remain at our club for the next five seasons, from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030.

Official statement from Real Madrid

At 20 years old, Huijsen is already a Spanish international and has played in the Italian Serie A with Juventus and Roma, as well as in the Premier League with Bournemouth. In addition, he has been nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award 2024-2025.

This signing represents Madrid’s first addition for next season. The club has suffered significant losses in defense during the 2024-25 season.

Key players such as Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, and David Alaba have faced prolonged periods of absence, as have full-backs Dani Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, and Lucas Vázquez.

Real Madrid is also looking to secure the arrival of full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Álvaro Carreras before the Club World Cup, which will begin on June 14.

Dean Huijsen has signed for Real Madrid from Bournemouth.

Xabi Alonso could be the coach for that moment, replacing Carlo Ancelotti.

Madrid’s interest in Huijsen, who stood out during his loan spell at Roma before his move to England, was a priority.

The player, born in Amsterdam, has played 29 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring three goals. Chelsea and Arsenal also showed interest in the young talent, but finally, Huijsen, who considers Sergio Ramos as one of his idols, will wear the white jersey.
