Real Madrid has reached a preliminary agreement to sign Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth for £50 million (approximately $60 million). In addition, the club has intensified negotiations with Benfica to also secure the arrival of full-back Álvaro Carreras before the Club World Cup.
Sources indicate that Madrid accelerated talks for Huijsen after their defeat against Barcelona, obtaining almost immediately the player’s approval, despite interest from other Premier League clubs.
According to sources, only the final approval from the lawyers is missing for the Spanish international to become a new Real Madrid player, with a five-year contract.

Once the player accepted the transfer, the signing was considered a formality, as Madrid will pay his release clause of £50 million. The club explored the possibility of including players in the deal to reduce the total cost, but Bournemouth rejected that option.
In March, it was reported that Madrid had the 20-year-old defender as a priority to reinforce their defense for next season.
Madrid was close to signing Huijsen when he played in the lower categories of Málaga. However, the player’s family preferred to sign for Juventus to continue his development in Italian football.
After a loan spell at Roma, Bournemouth signed the player permanently. Huijsen has been called up to the Spanish national team.
Real Madrid is trying to close the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold as soon as possible so that the English international can arrive in time for the Club World Cup, and will do the same with Huijsen.
Simultaneously, the club has also accelerated negotiations to sign former Manchester United full-back Carreras in a deal that would also cost around 60 million euros (approximately 67 million dollars).
Carreras, 22, was trained in the Madrid youth academy, where he played with Raúl Asencio, among others. He is highly valued by the coach.
