Paxten Aaronson Bolsters the Colorado Rapids with a Historic Signing

The Colorado Rapids have finalized a major signing by incorporating American midfielder Paxten Aaronson, coming from Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany. The agreement, which extends for five years until 2030, represents a milestone for the club. The transfer, officially announced by the Rapids on Thursday, sets a new record in the club’s history. The operation is estimated to have reached 7 million euros (8 million dollars), surpassing the 4.5 million euros (5.2 million dollars) previously paid for the Brazilian striker Rafael Navarro. Aaronson will occupy a designated player spot on the Colorado roster. This incorporation is a great boost for the Rapids, who are currently in seventh position in the Western Conference. The young footballer, who will turn 22 next Tuesday, played the 2024-25 season on loan at FC Utrecht of the Eredivisie in the Netherlands, where he scored nine goals and provided six assists in 37 league games.

“He has proven his worth in Europe, has gained valuable experience in the international arena with the United States National Team and brings a dynamic and creative presence to our midfield,” said Pádraig Smith, Rapids president. “He is the type of young and hungry player we want to have to build this club, and we are delighted to welcome him to Colorado as we strengthen a team capable of competing at the highest level.”
