Postecoglou will take over after the dismissal of Nuno Espírito Santo, who was fired on Monday.
This will be Postecoglou’s first job since leaving his position at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur in June.
During his time at Spurs, which lasted two seasons, Postecoglou managed to win the Europa League in May.
