Ryan Reynolds Pays Tribute to Ollie Palmer Following His Departure from Wrexham
Ryan Reynolds, co-owner of Wrexham, expressed his regret at the departure of Ollie Palmer, a key figure in the team. Palmer, after three and a half years at the club, is leaving for Swindon Town. Reynolds described Palmer’s departure as a “hard blow”, acknowledging his essential contribution to the club’s success, which has managed to ascend to the Championship. Palmer, 33, leaves Wrexham by “mutual agreement”, following his arrival in January 2022. His performance includes 46 goals in 156 matches, a significant record in his career with the team. His time at Wrexham was fundamental, as the team achieved three consecutive promotions, reaching the second division of English football.Palmer’s departure is part of the changes in Wrexham’s squad, which is preparing to compete in the Championship. Paul Mullin joined Wigan on loan, and Jack Marriott joined Reading. Palmer has signed a two-year contract with Swindon. Palmer, who has also had appearances in films like Deadpool and Wolverine, commented:I would like to wish Ollie all the best. He has been great for us over the last three and a half years, and it’s a good opportunity for him to play in the first team again, as well as being closer to his family.
