Neymar backed the fans, acknowledging their right to express their frustration after the defeat.

The defeat, which saw Philippe Coutinho score two goals, left Santos in 15th position in the Brazilian Serie A table. As a result, coach Cléber Xavier was fired. For Neymar, the defeat represented the worst result of his career. Visibly affected, he was consoled by members of the coaching staff at the end of the match. The player described the situation with strong words: “It’s a feeling of extreme shame. I’ve never experienced this in my life. Unfortunately, it happened. The tears were from rage, from everything. Unfortunately, I can’t help in every way. Anyway, it was total crap, that’s the reality.”
