Newcastle Strengthens its Women’s Team with World Champion Morgan Gautrat

Newcastle has secured the addition of US midfielder Morgan Gautrat, a two-time World Cup champion, on a loan deal from Orlando Pride, the current NWSL champions. The player will be with the team until the end of December. Gautrat, who has had an outstanding career in women’s soccer, arrives at Newcastle with an impressive track record. During her time at Orlando Pride, she played 31 matches and was key to the team reaching 60 points in the 2024 season, achieving the NWSL Shield and the NWSL championship. Before arriving at Newcastle, Gautrat also played for the Kansas City Current and the Chicago Stars FC. In addition, she had a brief but successful stint with OL Lyonnes in 2018, where she won the French Division 1 title. With the United States national team, Morgan has accumulated 88 appearances and has been fundamental in winning the World Cup titles in 2015 and 2019. She was also part of the Olympic team at the 2016 Games in Brazil.
