Manchester United Secures Matheus Cunha’s Signature

Manchester United has finalized the signing of forward Matheus Cunha, coming from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The agreement was closed after completing the necessary procedures, including the visa and player registration. The club announced the agreement on June 1st. United activated the £62.5 million (€83.5 million) release clause in the Brazilian international’s contract. United agreed to pay the fee within two years.

Cunha also expressed his emotion and gratitude:

Since I was a child in Brazil, watching Premier League matches on television at my grandmother’s house, United was my favorite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt. I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream come true.

The forward added: “I can’t wait for the start of the preseason to meet my teammates and prepare for next season. All my attention is now focused on working hard to be a valuable part of the team and help this club get back to the top.”

Cunha scored 17 goals and registered six assists for the Wolves in all competitions this season. The former Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig striker has been capped 15 times for Brazil, scoring his first goal for his country against Argentina in March.
