Manchester United Contacts RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United have initiated contact with RB Leipzig to explore the possibility of signing Benjamin Sesko, according to sources close to the club.
Although formal negotiations have not yet begun, United has contacted the Bundesliga club to find out the financial demands for the striker.
RB Leipzig, for its part, values the Slovenian international at a figure that ranges between 80 and 90 million euros.
This valuation could be a bit high for United, who hope to reach an agreement that benefits both parties.There is interest in Sesko from Newcastle United, but sources indicate that United is confident of emerging victorious if the final decision comes down to these two clubs.
United have also shown interest in Ollie Watkins.
Watkins, 29 years old, is considered a more economical option, with proven experience in the Premier League, although Aston Villa has made it clear that he is not available for transfer this summer.
Sesko has scored 39 goals in 87 matches with Leipzig since his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023, including 27 goals in his two Bundesliga seasons.
The possible arrival of another young forward could affect the future of Rasmus Højlund, who has struggled to score goals since joining the club from Atalanta in 2023.
There has been interest in Højlund from Napoli and Juventus this summer.
