Harry Maguire misses Manchester United’s pre-season tour

Defender Harry Maguire will not be part of Manchester United’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States due to personal matters, according to sources close to the club. Maguire was absent from the group that traveled to Chicago on Tuesday, although there is hope that the defender can join the team later during the tour. As expected, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia were excluded as the club works to secure their departure from Old Trafford. Lisandro Martínez has been included in the squad, but the Argentine international will not train or play with the team during the tour. Martínez has been out since February due to a knee injury. He will travel to the United States to continue his rehabilitation as his return approaches. New signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha are also part of the squad. Mbeumo, who completed his signing from Brentford on Monday, could debut against West Ham in New Jersey on Saturday.
Harry Maguire will miss at least the start of Man United's preseason tour to America.

André Onana, who suffered a hamstring injury during training and missed the 0-0 draw with Leeds in Stockholm on Saturday, has also made the trip. The goalkeeper has returned to training and, according to sources, his recovery is progressing well. It is understood that it is unlikely that Onana will regain full fitness before the end of the tour, but it has not been ruled out. United will face West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton in the United States before their Premier League campaign begins against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 17.
