Noni Madueke close to Arsenal: Million-dollar transfer on the horizon

The footballer Noni Madueke is on the verge of joining Arsenal, after leaving Chelsea’s training camp. The transfer, according to sources close to the matter, could reach 50 million pounds sterling (approximately 67.5 million dollars).

Madueke is expected to undergo medical examinations this Saturday, prior to the officialization of his transfer to the North London club.

The 23-year-old player has participated with Chelsea in the Club World Cup, starting in two matches during their journey to Sunday’s final, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain. Madueke was on the bench in the semi-final victory against Fluminense.

Arsenal’s coach, Arteta, has shown great interest in the English international, and the club even considered signing him last summer. Although his natural position is the right wing, where Bukayo Saka plays, Arteta is confident he can develop him as a high-level left winger.

Madueke arrived at Chelsea in 2023 from PSV Eindhoven for 35 million euros (40.9 million dollars) and played 46 games last season. In those matches, he scored 11 goals and provided five assists in all competitions. In addition, he was a starter in the Conference League final against Real Betis.

If the signing materializes, Madueke would become the second player to arrive at Arsenal from Chelsea this summer, following the incorporation of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
