Liverpool Honors Diogo Jota: Full Contract Payment to His Family

Liverpool, under the management of Arne Slot, has confirmed that the club’s owners will honor the contract of the recently deceased Diogo Jota, paying the full amount of the remaining two years to his family. The Portuguese striker, 28 years old, lost his life in a car accident along with his brother André Silva. The tragic event occurred on July 3, only eleven days after his marriage to Rute Cardoso.

This decision by Liverpool’s board, Fenway Sports Group, is based on the intention to support Jota’s family, covering the entirety of the contract that extended until the end of the 2026-27 season.
