Liverpool close to defensive reinforcements: Giovanni Leoni in sight
Liverpool is about to finalize the signing of central defender Giovanni Leoni, from Parma, according to reports. The 18-year-old has sparked the interest of several clubs, including Inter Milan, but everything indicates that his future will be at Anfield for an initial sum of £26 million ($35 million).
If the transfer is confirmed, Leoni would join the squad to reinforce the defense, following the departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen. He would join Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez as options for the center of defense under the management of Arne Slot. Leoni had 17 appearances in Serie A with Parma last season.Giovanni Leoni es el objetivo del Liverpool para reforzar su defensa.Liverpool have also initiated talks with Crystal Palace for English defender Marc Guéhi. Guéhi has one year remaining on his contract with Palace, and chairman Steve Parish admitted they could be forced to let him go this summer.
In addition, Liverpool received good news with the return of Joe Gomez to training, preparing for the start of the Premier League.
