Following an exciting penalty shootout victory against Spain, the Lionesses have secured their title in the Euro 2025. This historic triumph marks a milestone for English football, as they become the first senior England team to defend an international title and the first to win a trophy on foreign soil.
The team, which will land in England on Monday, will be received with a reception at 10 Downing Street, where Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner will be present.
Bullingham also added: “We are very proud of all the players, Sarina and the support team who have been part of this incredible achievement. They have worked incredibly hard and we know that the nation shares our pride. The victory celebration in London on Tuesday will give English fans the opportunity to celebrate with the players and be part of history. We have had incredible support from our fans both in Switzerland and at home throughout the tournament, and we look forward to celebrating together and creating some lifelong memories.”“Our Lionesses, who have made history, are European champions for the second consecutive time and have become the first England senior team to win a tournament abroad,” said Mark Bullingham, FA chief executive.
