Dejan Kulusevski se pierde la final de la Europa League por lesión

Tottenham Hotspur player Dejan Kulusevski will not be able to participate in the Europa League final against Manchester United, scheduled for next Wednesday. This is due to a knee injury sustained during the match against Crystal Palace.

After undergoing surgery, Kulusevski will immediately begin his rehabilitation process with the club’s medical team. Although Tottenham has not specified the recovery time, it is very likely that coach Ange Postecoglou will only be able to count on three starting midfielders for the crucial match in Bilbao: Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, and Pape Matar Sarr.

Kulusevski’s absence adds to that of Lucas Bergvall, who suffered an ankle injury during training and will miss the remainder of the season. Likewise, James Maddison will also be unavailable for the final, due to a knee injury.

Dejan Kulusevski suffered the knee injury during Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in north London at the weekend.

In the match against Palace, where Kulusevski was substituted in the 19th minute, coach Postecoglou had initially suggested that the injury would not prevent him from playing the final. However, the situation has changed with the need for surgery.

Injuries have significantly affected Postecoglou’s team, especially at the crucial moment of the season. Tottenham is currently in seventeenth position in the Premier League, and the Europa League represents their last chance to achieve a title and secure their qualification for the Champions League.

Postecoglou’s team will face Aston Villa in their penultimate Premier League match on Friday, before traveling to Spain for the final.
