Josh Sargent, forward for the United States national team, is on the verge of joining Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga. The deal, according to sources, would be valued at more than 21 million euros ($24.4 million).
Sargent, 25, has stood out at Norwich City, but seems set to return to Germany. He arrived at Norwich from Werder Bremen in 2021 and has since scored 46 goals in 124 league games for the Championship side.
He participated in the 2021-22 season of Norwich in the Premier League and has spent the last three seasons in the English second division, where he was Norwich’s top scorer in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Sargent has five goals in 28 appearances for the United States national team and hopes to play a prominent role in the 2026 World Cup.
Wolfsburg has already signed Sheffield United defensive midfielder Vini Souza this summer, while Norwich has seen Jonathan Rowe join Marseille and Borja Sainz go to Porto.
