Jordi Alba Extends his Contract with Inter Miami until 2027
The left-back Jordi Alba has reached an agreement to extend his contract with Inter Miami, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2027 MLS season.
The 36-year-old player’s original contract with Inter Miami was scheduled to expire at the end of the 2025 season.
I am happy to renew my contract because I have the desire to continue competing, and because of how I feel at the club, with the affection I receive from the fans in every match. I have been very comfortable these last two years at the club, and I feel very loved by all the fans.
Jordi Alba
Alba expressed her enthusiasm for continuing on the team and her desire to continue achieving success.
Alba joined Miami in July 2023, reuniting with his former Barcelona teammates, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, in MLS.
Since then, he has accumulated six goals and 20 assists in 49 appearances, inspiring the club to obtain the 2024 Supporters’ Shield and an MLS single-season points record.
The left-back played a fundamental role in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup, where they reached the semifinals for the first time in their history.
He continues to be a key element for the new head coach, Javier Mascherano, teaching the younger players with his example on the field.
Alba is the first of the four former Barcelona players to renew his contract in Miami, as the agreements of Luis Suárez, Messi and Busquets end in 2025. Although sources confirm ongoing conversations between Messi and the club, an extension has not yet been signed.
Inter Miami is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 22 points in 12 matches.
