Isak, absent due to “risk” in Sweden’s draw

The Swedish coach, Jon Dahl Tomasson, explained Alexander Isak’s absence in Friday’s draw against Slovenia. Isak, Liverpool’s recent signing, did not participate in the match due to a lack of rhythm after missing the preseason and the first Premier League matches with Newcastle United. The forward, whose transfer was finalized on the last day of the market, was included in Sweden’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers, but remained on the bench in the 2-2 draw against Slovenia.

He had only done three training sessions with the team. He had no pre-season and, of course, no playing time either.

Tomasson added that the risk of using it was too high.
Alexander Isak fue suplente en el partido de Suecia contra Eslovenia el viernes.
Regarding the possibility of Isak playing in the next match against Kosovo, Tomasson replied: “Let’s hope, let’s hope. As a game changer.” Anthony Elanga, also recently signed by Newcastle, scored a goal for Sweden on Friday. Benjamin Sesko, from Manchester United, assisted a goal for the home team.
