Guardiola Questions the Premier League Schedule
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Premier League due to the scheduling of the match against Bournemouth.
The match, corresponding to the penultimate matchday of the season, will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday. This change is due to City’s participation in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
I would definitely prefer to play on Wednesday.
Pep Guardiola
During a press conference on Friday, Guardiola questioned why the match was not scheduled for Wednesday, which would have given his players an additional day of rest.
The Catalan coach emphasized the difficulty of the match against Bournemouth, a team that is fighting for qualification to the Europa League or the Conference League, and the importance of physical preparation.
Guardiola also mentioned the case of Tottenham Hotspur, whose match against Aston Villa was brought forward before the Europa League final.
La Premier League tomó una buena decisión, muy buena.
Pep Guardiola
The City coach has expressed his frustration with these decisions, which he believes do not favor the players’ recovery.
