Grace Geyoro to London City: World record signing in the WSL

Breaking news in women’s football! London City Lionesses have finalized the signing of Grace Geyoro, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, in a transfer that sets a new world record. The French midfielder becomes the sixteenth addition to London City this summer transfer window, after the transfer was finalized on the last available day. This move by Geyoro to the Women’s Super League (WSL) marks the third time in this transfer period that the women’s world transfer record has been broken.

Geyoro, 28, had three years remaining on his contract with PSG and will reunite with Jocelyn Prêcheur, a coach he already worked with in Paris. Sources indicate that PSG was looking for a figure close to 2 million euros, but they finally agreed on a lower amount.

In a press conference prior to London City’s WSL debut against Arsenal on Saturday, Prêcheur expressed his satisfaction with Geyoro’s arrival. Paris Saint-Germain issued a statement in which it “salutes Grace Geyoro’s exemplary career at the club.” The player has also scored 22 goals in 103 matches for the French national team.
