Gabriel Magalhães denies offers and focuses on Arsenal’s success

Arsenal center-back Gabriel Magalhães has denied any offers to move to Saudi Arabia and revealed that he signed a new contract with the Gunners because he believes that “this season will be different” in the club’s pursuit of titles. The 27-year-old footballer extended his contract last month, lasting until 2029, ending speculation about his possible departure due to interest from several Saudi Pro League clubs. Mikel Arteta’s team has finished second in the last three Premier League seasons and hasn’t won a trophy since the 2020 FA Cup. The club has made signings to reinforce its squad and seek to break the title drought. These moves are expected to strengthen the team in its fight for the championship.

Regarding questions about the supposed offers from Saudi Arabia, Gabriel stated: “Personally, I haven’t heard anything, I haven’t received any offers. Many people like to say things on the internet. I am focused on Arsenal. That’s why I signed the contract and I am focused on the club.”

“I’ve been at the club for five years and I’ve seen how much it has grown. I’m here to win big titles and I think this season will be different. We’ve let some titles slip recently. We almost won, but I think things will be different this year. I have a lot of faith in that”.

When asked what convinced him to commit his future to Arsenal, Gabriel replied: “I only have one thing to say, and Mikel says it: We are ready to reach new heights this season.” “I don’t think we can make excuses; we did everything we could in the last three years. I feel that sometimes we had a bit of bad luck, but we all believe we can win big titles. Preseason has started. We are focused on what our coach tells us to do, and on what we have to do and improve. I think this year will be different.” Arsenal landed in Singapore on Sunday ahead of two friendlies against AC Milan and Newcastle United, before heading to Hong Kong, where they will face their North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur. Gabriel ended last season prematurely after suffering a hamstring injury in April that required surgery. When asked if he expected to be fit for the start of the Premier League season, Arsenal will face Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 17, Gabriel said: “I am improving a lot. I already feel very good. I have already been training very hard with the group. The season will be full of challenges, but I already feel good to start playing.”
