Nottingham Forest plans to file a formal complaint to the Premier League due to Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in player Morgan Gibbs-White. Sources close to the situation revealed that the deal, which seemed imminent, is now on hold. An official announcement was expected in the coming days, with a release clause of 60 million pounds sterling (81 million dollars) ready to be activated by Spurs. However, Forest has expressed its discontent with the approach of the London club, according to sources.

Meanwhile, Tottenham maintains that it has acted correctly and that Gibbs-White is willing to sign, even having already completed his medical examinations. Although the 25-year-old player is expected to eventually join the Spurs, any official transfer will be delayed while the Forest complaint is resolved. Gibbs-White was fundamental in Forest’s successful 2024-25 season, which earned them qualification for the Europa Conference League, after having been competing for a place in the Champions League for much of the season.
