Firmino leaves the Saudi League: Signed by Al Sadd of Qatar
Roberto Firmino confirms his departure from the Saudi Professional League. Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino has confirmed his departure from Al-Ahli of the Saudi Professional League, and will join Al Sadd of Qatar. Firmino has signed a two-year contract with the champion of the Qatar Stars League, after leading Al-Ahli to the title of the Asian Champions League Elite in Jeddah in May.

I am happy because we made history at the club during these two years together. The best moment was becoming Asian champions. I am very grateful for this.

Roberto Firmino
Firmino spent two seasons with Al Ahli after joining from Liverpool and played a key role in the club’s first continental title victory, scoring six times in 12 matches in the Asian Champions League Elite. Provided assists for both goals for his club in their victory over Kawasaki Frontale of Japan in the final in May to become the first player, along with his club teammates Riyad Mahrez and Édouard Mendy, to win continental titles in Asia and Europe. Firmino’s performances saw him named the competition’s most valuable player. The 33-year-old player joins an Al Sadd team that won last season’s national title to qualify for the next edition of the Asian Champions League Elite.
