Deportivo La Coruña Football Player Hospitalized After Fall While Attempting a Selfie

Deportivo La Coruña forward Zakaria Eddahchouri is “under observation” in the hospital with “minor injuries”, the club reported this Sunday.

The incident occurred after the player fell from the city’s boardwalk while attempting to take a selfie.

Local media reported that firefighters and an ambulance were called to the scene overnight, after receiving reports of a person who had fallen onto the rocks.

Eddahchouri was rescued using a ladder before being taken to the hospital.

“RC Deportivo confirms that the player Zakaria Eddahchouri is under observation in a hospital in A Coruña after an incident suffered yesterday,” the club stated in a statement. “After the first examination, the footballer has minor injuries and is being attended to by the corresponding medical team.

The club expressed its gratitude to the emergency services for their rapid intervention and will continue to report on Eddahchouri’s condition.

Zakaria Eddahchouri, 25, joined Depor in January and has scored four goals in 16 appearances in the Spanish second division.

The player played the full 90 minutes in the club’s 3-2 home defeat to Granada at the Riazor stadium on Saturday.
