De Jong CONFIRMS: Renews with Barcelona, Soon there will be an agreement!

Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong has confirmed his intention to extend his contract with FC Barcelona. The player, whose current contract with the Catalan club expires in a year, has expressed his desire to continue his career with the team.

I haven’t renewed my contract, otherwise you would already know. But I’m very happy at Barça and, as far as I know, Barça is happy with me, so, in the end, I will renew.

De Jong, 28 years old, started in Barcelona’s 7-3 victory against FC Seoul in the team’s second match of the Asian tour on Thursday.

Since his arrival at the club in 2019 from Ajax, De Jong has played 259 matches with Barça. The club has already secured the contract renewals of other key players in recent months. The defender Jules Koundé also confirmed this week that he has reached an agreement to extend his contract with Barça until June 2030.
