Jonathan David debuts with a goal in Serie A and leads Juventus to victory

Canadian forward Jonathan David had a dream debut in Serie A, scoring a crucial goal that led Juventus to a 2-0 victory over Parma in the opening match of the season. David, who joined Juventus in July after his contract with Lille ended, proved his worth immediately. His goal was fundamental for “Vecchia Signora” to start the season on the right foot. The match, which was played on Sunday, saw Juventus finish with ten players after Andrea Cambiaso was sent off, but Dusan Vlahovic secured the victory with a second goal.

“It’s everything I expected,” declared David, who received an ovation when substituted in the 80th minute. “It was the first game of the season and the fans created an incredible atmosphere, you could feel their support. I’m happy to score in my first game, but the most important thing is the three points.”
