Cristiano Ronaldo Guides Al Nassr to Victory and Regains the Lead

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to demonstrate his worth on the field. The Portuguese star scored in his third consecutive match since his return to the team, leading Al Nassr to a resounding 5-0 victory over Al Najma, a team that is in last place in the Saudi Pro League.

The match, played on Wednesday, saw Ronaldo open the scoring from the penalty spot in the seventh minute. The home team, Al Nassr, consolidated with additional goals from Kingsley Coman and Iñigo Martínez, establishing a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Sadio Mané extended the lead at the start of the second half. Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus chose to substitute his star players, including Ronaldo, who currently has 20 goals in the league this season. This figure puts him three goals behind Ivan Toney, from Al Ahli, in the fight for the Saudi Golden Boot.

This victory represents the 19th of the season for Al Nassr in the SPL, solidifying their position at the top of the table with 58 points in 23 matches. The team has only suffered one defeat in the league so far, surpassing the second-placed team, Al Ahli, by two points.

Ronaldo missed the matches against Al Ittihad and Al Riyadh earlier this month, due to the lack of financial support for the club during the recent transfer period.

According to reports, the Portuguese star expressed his discontent with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) for not investing in the team, while Al Hilal, also majority-owned by the PIF, signed his former Real Madrid teammate, Karim Benzema, from Al Ittihad.
