Belgian goalkeeper and Real Madrid player Thibaut Courtois has been diagnosed with a back problem, his LaLiga club announced on Sunday.
This situation arises just before two World Cup qualifying matches and the start of the Club World Cup.
According to reports from Spanish media, the player will need a week of rest and treatment. This means Courtois will miss Belgium’s Group J qualifying matches against North Macedonia on Friday and against Wales the following Monday.

The goalkeeper is expected to be available for Real Madrid’s first match in the Club World Cup, which will be played against Al Hilal in Miami on June 18.
Courtois’ diagnosis reveals sacroiliitis, an inflammation in the joints connecting the lower spine to the pelvis, leading to pain and stiffness in the back and hips.
