Guardiola Expresses Concern Over Injuries at Manchester City

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola expressed his concern after the 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League. Sunday’s match left the team with several important absences due to defensive injuries. Josko Gvardiol and Rúben Dias were forced to leave the field in the second half. Enzo Fernández scored the equalizing goal for Chelsea in added time. Nico O’Reilly also seemed to suffer hamstring discomfort at the end of the match. Guardiola is already without John Stones, who has only played one league game since August, while Nathan Aké has also had trouble staying fit.

Of course I have concerns. Have you seen the bench today? Four youth players and now we will have more. We don’t have players.

After the losses of Gvardiol and Dias, City’s makeshift defense conceded Chelsea’s equalizing goal in the 94th minute.

This is the second consecutive match in which Guardiola’s team drops points, remaining six points behind leader Arsenal at the top of the Premier League. Guardiola commented on the team’s current situation.

We have many injuries. John Stones is out, I don’t know for how many months. Rubén will now be out, Josko will also be out. Nathan, we always know that Nathan can’t play regularly. That is the situation.

Guardiola admitted to being especially worried about Gvardiol, who needed help to leave the field.

We’ll see tomorrow, it doesn’t look good. He and Rubén, we’ll see what happens. I haven’t spoken to the doctor, but if Rubén is out it’s because he felt something.
