United States women’s national team midfielder Kirstie Mewis and her partner, Chelsea forward Sam Kerr, have announced the birth of their first child.
The announcement was made through a post on Instagram, where they introduced their son, Jagger.

Kerr, who plays for the Australian national team, has been out of the courts for 15 months due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Australian forward suffered the injury during a training session in early January 2024.
Although she was included in Chelsea’s Champions League squad, with the hope that she could participate, she was never fit enough to be called up for a match before the English club was eliminated from the European tournament.
Australia’s upcoming matches are on May 30 and June 2 against Argentina, while the Matildas prepare to host the Women’s Asian Cup next March.
