Jude Bellingham will undergo shoulder surgery

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham will undergo surgery on his left shoulder this Wednesday in London. The international English is expected to be out for 10 to 12 weeks. Bellingham, 22 years old, has dealt with this recurring problem since his first season at Madrid. He dislocated his shoulder in November 2023 during a match against Rayo Vallecano and opted for a rehabilitation plan that allowed him to continue playing with Madrid. As a result, it was not fully recovered. Bellingham, who started in all of Madrid’s Club World Cup matches, explained his decision to undergo surgery after the 3-1 victory over Pachuca last month.

I’ll have the surgery after the tournament. I’m tired of playing with the splint, especially in the heat. It will be nice to have my old shoulder back, so I’m looking forward to it.

Bellingham, who arrived at Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, helped the Spanish giants win the LaLiga and Champions League double in his first season at the club. He scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 58 matches across all competitions for Los Blancos last season. Madrid, under the direction of new coach Xabi Alonso, will begin LaLiga at home against Osasuna on August 19. Bellingham is expected to return in early October, but will miss up to eight league games and the start of the Champions League group stage.
