Arsenal’s Young Promise, Max Dowman, Signs Scholarship Agreement

The talented Arsenal footballer, Max Dowman, only 15 years old, has agreed to sign a scholarship contract with the Premier League club. He is expected to be offered a professional contract once he turns 17. Dowman is considered one of the most promising prospects to have emerged from the club’s academy in recent years. He made his first-team debut on August 23, in the 5-0 victory against Leeds United, at 15 years and 235 days old. The scholarship agreement ties him to Arsenal for two years from his 16th birthday on December 31st. Subsequently, he may be offered a professional contract that will come into effect when he turns 17. The young footballer, who has been an Arsenal fan since childhood, has always wanted to continue his development at the North London club.

In his debut against Leeds, Dowman won a penalty that Viktor Gyökeres converted, becoming the second-youngest player in Premier League history. His Arsenal teammate, Ethan Nwaneri, holds the record for the youngest player. Dowman is also the youngest goalscorer in the history of Arsenal Under-21 in the Premier League 2. The 15-year-old and 263-day-old young footballer broke the record previously set by Reiss Nelson. Dowman and Nwaneri join Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly as academy prospects who have made the jump to Mikel Arteta’s team in recent years.
