Arsenal close to signing Viktor Gyökeres
Arsenal are close to finalizing a deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres for a fee close to 73 million euros.
Negotiations between both clubs have been ongoing, although the delay is due to disagreements over the details of the add-ons related to the player’s performance.
Sporting is willing to accept an initial fee of approximately 63 million euros, with an additional 10 million euros in add-ons, but seeks to make the triggers for the additional payments more achievable.
Despite this, sources suggest that the agreement is moving towards a positive conclusion and there is optimism that the 27-year-old player can complete his transfer in time to join Arsenal on their pre-season tour of Asia.
Once a final agreement is reached with Sporting, the deal could be finalized quickly, as Gyökeres has already agreed personal terms and a five-year contract with Arsenal.
