Ancelotti Says Goodbye to Real Madrid
Real Madrid has confirmed the departure of Carlo Ancelotti as coach, after the final match of the LaLiga season. The decision ends the Italian coach’s time at the club.
The pressure on Ancelotti had increased because the team failed to win any major title this season, something that hadn’t happened since 2021.
Earlier this month, the Brazilian Football Confederation announced that Ancelotti would take over as Brazil’s coach this summer, although Real Madrid had not formally confirmed his departure until now.
Madrid will play against Real Sociedad on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, after a season in which they finished second in LaLiga, lost the Copa del Rey final and were eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The club added that Ancelotti led the team in one of the most successful periods in its 123-year history, becoming the coach with the most titles: three European Cups, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles and two Spanish Super Cups, totaling 15 titles in the six seasons he was at the club.
The Santiago Bernabéu will pay tribute to Ancelotti in his last match as Real Madrid coach. The club wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage.
Ancelotti, who returned to Madrid in 2021, had a contract until June 2026, but will now leave the team. Former player Xabi Alonso is expected to be named his successor.
