Adrian Simon Gill Extends his Contract with FC Barcelona
Young American international Adrian Simon Gill has renewed his contract with FC Barcelona until the year 2026, as announced by the Catalan club this Wednesday.
Gill, 19, arrived at Barça in 2018 and quickly rose through La Masia, the club’s famous youth academy. He signed his first professional contract in 2022.
After the completion of that contract in June, Gill continued training with Barça during the summer while recovering from an injury.
The club has decided to extend his contract for one more year. The player born in Denver will be part of the Barça Atlètic team, led by Juliano Belletti, which competes in the fourth division of Spanish football.
Gill, who can play both in midfield and as a full-back, has represented the United States at youth level, but has not had regular participation since the Under-17 category due to several injuries.Adrian Simon Gill es uno de los dos internacionales juveniles estadounidenses que quedan en el Barcelona, habiendo extendido su contrato hasta 2026.Last season, Gill was one of three American players who were part of the Barça reserve team, along with goalkeeper Diego Kochen and midfielder Pedro Soma.
Kochen remains at the club and is a regular part of the team on match days for the first team. He was a substitute in the first LaLiga match against Mallorca last Saturday.
Soma, who was on loan from Cornellà, left in the summer and signed for San Diego FC of MLS.
