Kevin Sinfield has expressed his commitment to “support in any way possible” after learning of the diagnosis of motor neuron disease (MND) of former England rugby captain Lewis Moody.
Sinfield, who has been a key figure in the fight against MND, has raised over £10 million to fund research and raise awareness of this disease since his friend and teammate at Leeds Rhinos, Rob Burrow, was diagnosed in 2019.
Burrow passed away due to complications from the disease at the age of 41 last June.
Sinfield received a CBE last year for his services to the ENM community. Sinfield’s next fundraising challenge, “7 in 7: Together”, is scheduled for early December, where he will run seven ultramarathons in seven days across seven cities or regions. In May 2023, Sinfield carried his friend Burrow over the finish line at the Leeds Marathon.I will support in any way I can. We have to keep fighting MND together.
