France Crushes Italy and Approaches Grand Slam in Six Nations

France edges closer to the Six Nations Grand Slam after defeating Italy with a score of 33-8, securing the bonus point, at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, with the roof closed. Italy, although they put up a fight in several parts of the first half, were surpassed by France, who achieved their third consecutive victory. The home team scored three tries in the first half hour, leaving the score at 19-0. Louis Bielle-Biarrey scored in the third minute, extending his scoring streak to eight consecutive matches in the Six Nations. Emmanuel Meafou and Emilien Gailleton also contributed tries, the latter after an excellent play. Italy reacted before halftime with a try by Ange Capuozzo and a penalty by Paolo Garbisi, reducing the difference to 19-8. France, however, extended their lead in the 72nd minute, with tries from Gael Drean and Gailleton, taking advantage of Louis Lynagh’s yellow card.
