England Suffers Key Losses for Clash Against Argentina

The England selection faces a considerable challenge ahead of Sunday’s crucial match against Argentina at Allianz Stadium. The team has confirmed the absences of Jamie George, Ollie Lawrence, and Tom Roebuck due to injuries sustained during the 33-19 victory over New Zealand. Coach Steve Borthwick regrets the absences of these key players, who will not be able to participate in the match against the Pumas. George and Lawrence are suffering from hamstring problems, while Roebuck is suffering from a foot injury, all of which are the result of the intense match against the All Blacks.
  • England’s self-confidence leads them to a historic victory over the All Blacks.
  • England’s Pollock in the running for Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of the Year.
In addition to these absences are those of Ollie Chessum and Tommy Freeman, who had already been ruled out due to previous injuries, which further reduces England’s selection options in their quest for an eleventh consecutive victory. To cover these absences, Noah Caluori, a young prospect, has been called up to the training team. In addition, Jamie Blamire and Charlie Ewels join to reinforce the forward line.

Regarding Freddie Steward, who left the match against New Zealand due to a possible concussion, has been cleared to play on Sunday after passing medical assessments. George’s injury opens the door for Theo Dan to make his first appearance this autumn, with Luke Cowan-Dickie as the first choice in the hooker position. Lawrence’s absence represents a hard blow, but the return of Elliot Daly, recovered from a fractured forearm, offers a high-level alternative. Henry Arundell and Cadan Murley will compete for the wing position left by Roebuck, while it seems unlikely that 19-year-old Caluori will debut in the match against Argentina. Borthwick is scheduled to announce the lineup on Friday, although there is a possibility it will be brought forward to Wednesday.
