Mark Stone, Golden Knights captain, out with injury

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone will be out of action due to a wrist injury, according to coach Bruce Cassidy. Stone, who suffered the injury during the third period of the game against Calgary, will miss several games. The forward has accumulated 13 points this season, placing him close to the team leader, Jack Eichel, who has 15 points.

I feel so sorry for him. He has always known how to recover, that’s the good news. When we have him back, whether in the short, medium or long term, we don’t know yet.

Bruce Cassidy, Coach
Brandon Saad will take Stone’s place on the first line, alongside Eichel and Ivan Barbashev. Stone has contributed eight points in Vegas’ power play, which is ranked second in the league. Mitch Marner will replace Stone on the goal line during the power play, while defenseman Shea Theodore will join the first unit. The Knights, with a record of 4-0-2, will face a significant challenge against the undefeated Carolina Hurricanes (5-0-0), with absences in both the forward and defense. Stone joins Brett Howden and Noah Hanifin on the injured list. Howden, with a lower-body injury, has already started skating, but will not be available against the Hurricanes. Hanifin has not yet returned to the ice since the first game of the season.
