Evan Rodrigues Out of Action Due to Injury
Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues likely finished his season due to a fracture in a finger on his right hand suffered during Thursday night’s game against the Minnesota Wild, where the Panthers fell 3-2.
Rodrigues was injured in the first minute of the game. Panthers coach Paul Maurice estimated a four-to-six week absence.
It has not yet been determined whether Rodrigues will need surgery. Approximately three weeks remain until the end of the regular season for the Panthers (35-33-3), who, although not mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, are unlikely to advance to the postseason.
This injury adds to a series of setbacks for the team this season.
The Panthers were already missing several key players, including their top scorer, Sam Reinhart, and other key players.
