Nikita Kucherov Wins the Ted Lindsay Award for the Second Time

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has been awarded the Ted Lindsay Award for the second time in his career. This recognition, announced on Wednesday, highlights his exceptional performance this season.

The Ted Lindsay Award is presented annually to the NHL’s most outstanding player, as voted by the members of the NHL Players’ Association.

Kucherov, who also won this award in the 2018-19 season, was a finalist last season. His competitors in the final were Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, both teammates on the Colorado Avalanche. MacKinnon was the winner of the award in the previous season.

At 31 years old, Kucherov secured his second consecutive Art Ross Trophy by leading the NHL in scoring, accumulating 121 points thanks to 37 goals and 84 assists. In addition, he led the league in power-play points, with a total of 46 (8 goals and 38 assists). The presentation of the Hart Memorial Trophy, which recognizes the league’s most valuable player and is voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association, is scheduled for June 27.
