Gabriel Vilardi Secures His Future with the Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets have secured the continuity of forward Gabriel Vilardi, signing a six-year contract extension for $45 million.
Vilardi, who became a restricted free agent on July 1st, completed a two-year, $6.88 million contract. During the 2024-25 season, the player achieved his personal bests, recording 27 goals, 34 assists, and a total of 61 points in 71 games.
The 25-year-old player, a native of Kingston, Ontario, also contributed a goal and three assists in nine playoff games. It should be noted that Vilardi missed the last 11 regular season games and the first four of the postseason due to an upper body injury.
The Jets acquired Vilardi in June 2023, in a trade that involved Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was traded to the Los Angeles Kings. In his career, Vilardi has accumulated 90 goals and 85 assists in 270 regular season games, spread over six seasons with Los Angeles and Winnipeg.
