Blackhawks Secure Sacha Boisvert with Three-Year Contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have reached an agreement for a three-year contract with Sacha Boisvert, one of the team’s most promising prospects. The official announcement of the entry-level agreement with the Canadian forward was made on Monday. The contract has a salary cap impact of $974,167 and extends to the 2027-28 season. Boisvert, who will turn 20 on Tuesday, could make his NHL debut this week. Although he won’t play on Tuesday against the Wild, while awaiting immigration clearance, the Blackhawks visit Minnesota on Thursday and host the Avalanche on Friday.

I think he’s going to need to have a physical impact on the game day in and day out, and if he can do that, he becomes a real asset.

Jeff Blashill, Coach
Coach Jeff Blashill indicated that he plans to take it slow with Boisvert regarding playing time. Boisvert, a Quebec native, was selected by the Blackhawks with the 18th pick in the 2024 draft. This year, he accumulated three goals and 14 assists in 26 games with Boston University. Boisvert was excluded from the game against Vermont in the first round of the Hockey East tournament for an undisclosed reason. He returned to the team for the final loss of the season against UConn. In addition, he was suspended for two games in January after participating in a fight during a loss against UMass Lowell. The 6-foot-3-inch player, Boisvert, played for North Dakota for one season before transferring to Boston. With the Fighting Hawks, he recorded 18 goals and 14 assists in 37 games.
