Blackhawks Secure Soderblom with Contract Extension

The Chicago Blackhawks have reached an agreement with goaltender Arvid Soderblom to extend his contract for two years and $5.5 million, as announced on Saturday.

The contractual agreement extends Soderblom’s stay until the 2026-27 season, thus avoiding the arbitration process.

Soderblom, 25, recorded a 10-18-7 record last season, with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage in 36 games, of which he started 33. In addition, he set personal records in both wins and games played.

In his career with the Blackhawks, Soderblom has a record of 17-52-11, with an average of 3.55 goals against and a save percentage of .889 in 86 games played (77 as a starter). The player joined the Blackhawks in 2021 as an undrafted free agent.
