Jeffery Simmons, out of the game between Titans and Patriots due to injury

Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons will not participate in Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots due to a left hamstring injury.

The injury occurred during the second quarter of the game. The Titans’ medical staff attended to Simmons in the medical tent. After attempting to run on the sideline, Simmons remained on the bench while the Titans’ defense took the field.

With Simmons off the field, the Patriots scored their first touchdown, going 93 yards in 11 plays, consuming almost seven minutes of the clock.

Before this game, Simmons had accumulated 23 pressures and 4.5 sacks this season, tied with Byron Murphy as the leader in sacks among defensive tackles.

The absence of Simmons was noticed in the Titans’ defense, as the team did not achieve any sacks when he was not on the field. Simmons is responsible for 50% of the team’s sacks and 32.9% of the team’s pressures, ranking second among all NFL defenders in both categories.
