Ravens Hire Declan Doyle as Offensive Coordinator

The Baltimore Ravens have announced the hiring of Declan Doyle as their new offensive coordinator, according to sources. Doyle, 29, takes the position as the youngest offensive playcaller in the NFL. The decision, made by the new Ravens coach, Jesse Minter, marks a bold move. Doyle, who was interviewed in Baltimore on Friday, has no prior experience as an offensive playcaller and has only seven years of experience as a coach in the NFL. Doyle comes to the Ravens after being the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears for one season, although the plays were called by head coach Ben Johnson. Despite his youth, Doyle is considered one of the most promising young offensive minds in the league. He helped transform the Bears’ offense, which went from being the worst in the NFL in 2024 to the sixth-best last season. The Bears also averaged 26 points per game in 2025, a significant jump compared to the 18.2 points per game of the previous season. Before joining the Bears, Doyle was the tight ends coach for the Denver Broncos from 2023 to 2024 and offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints from 2019 to 2022. Doyle’s challenge will be to revitalize the Ravens’ offense led by Lamar Jackson. Last season, Jackson averaged 196.1 passing yards and threw 21 touchdown passes, both lower figures since 2022.

I am looking for a connector and an innovator, and a scheme builder around the best player in the world.

Jesse Minter
This designation represents the fourth offensive coordinator for Jackson, who is about to begin his ninth season in the NFL. Interestingly, the changes in the past have been beneficial for Jackson, who has achieved NFL Most Valuable Player seasons after the last two times Baltimore hired new offensive coordinators.
