Kris Boyd, Jets Player, in Stable Condition After Shooting

New York Jets special teams player Kris Boyd is in critical but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan after suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen at a Midtown restaurant, according to the New York City Police Department.

The incident took place shortly after 2 a.m. at the Sei Less restaurant, located on West 38th Street. The New York Police Department spokesperson indicated that no arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.

According to reports, Boyd, 29, was shot outside the restaurant after a dispute that turned violent. The assailant fired two shots and fled the scene in a BMW X8 SUV.

Boyd was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital. The Jets team has stated that they are aware of the situation and will not be making any further comments at this time.

This is Boyd’s first season with the Jets, after signing a one-year contract for $1.6 million in free agency. However, he has been unable to play due to a shoulder injury he suffered during the preseason.

Boyd, who plays cornerback, was selected in the seventh round of the 2019 draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Before joining the Jets, he played four seasons with the Vikings and was also part of the Arizona Cardinals and the Houston Texans.
